Northwest VEG Eastside Potluck.
Join Northwest VEG for our monthly potluck at the Friends Meeting Hall,
4312 SE Stark Street in Portland. Please bring a vegan or vegetarian
main dish, salad or dessert, a card listing its ingredients, and plates
and utensils for your use. If you come alone, figure the amount to serve
4-6; increase the amount 4 servings for each additional person in your
party/family. Northwest VEG potlucks are alcohol-free events and we
start eating about 5:15 pm.
May 18 (6:30 pm) Proper Eats Presentation. Even if
you can’t make the potluck, please come to hear Piper Dixon of Proper
Eats Market and Cafe discuss buying produce for the restaurant and
grocery he co-owns. There are many practical challenges in operating
a vegetarian establishment and buying organic food, in season and locally
grown. A native of Indiana and a horticulturist by profession, Piper
has transitioned to chef and then business owner. For more information

Whole Life Market's First Day! The
National College of Natural Medicine presents the Whole Life Market
every other Sunday, June 1 - Oct. 19. Vendors
will reflect a wide range of produce, health care products, and handmade
items. Each market will include talks, demonstrations or short classes
on topics like acupuncture and cooking. Kides activities, too! Location:

Week!
The Portland vegan community is one of the strongest and most active
in the world. With thousands of vegans, several activist groups and
dozens of businesses we are planning an unprecedented outreach campaign
to support hundreds of Portlander's interested in making a change in
their diet. As a community we will all work together to support anyone
interested in trying veganism for a week. Check out a week of daily

Work Party at Lighthouse Farm Sanctuary
When: Every other Saturday, 10 am - 1 pm
More than 100 rescued farm animals reside at this sanctuary near Scio,
OR, east of Salem. Volunteer work parties provide an opportunity to
visit the farm and help with routine chores, after which everyone
stops for lunch and a roundtable discussion of any topic concerning
