Living and Cooking Vegan in a Meat-Eaters’ World
Every vegan can tell you stories about negative attitudes and hostile dynamics coming from meat-eaters, sometimes even friends and family members. For our 22 Day Veg Challenge Kickoff Event, Linda Tyler, vegan writer and cooking workshop leader, will dig into this phenomenon in depth, sharing research studies that shed light on why this happens and what you can do when it happens. Linda will also offer research-backed approaches for cooking vegan dishes for meat-eaters. Using a few basic principles and taking time to carefully choose dishes and meal menus can mean the difference between acceptance and rejection from your target meat-eater. It’s not just tofu that turns people off. The second half of the session will be a cooking demo. Linda will share two core recipes (Creamy Tomato Sauce and Montreal Roasted Vegetables) and show ways they can be combined with a number of different supporting foods to make at least a dozen fabulous vegan meals.
