July 27, 2010

The 3rd annual Try Vegan Week is set to take place the week of August 14-21. This year features many exciting events including the Vegan Prom of Tomorrow being held at 9 p.m. on Saturday, August 21 at Crush Bar in Portland.

Other Try Vegan Week events include a free Earthlings film screening, "Getting your Greens" workshop with Blossoming Lotus, "Veganizing your Kitchen" and much, much more. "The idea is to make the best possible environment for going vegan, and staying vegan. We have free events and classes all week," says Try Vegan co-founder David Agranoff. "The way it works best is if all our local vegans think of one or two friends, co-workers, and family members who say things like I wish I could eat like you. Invite those people to events; offer to mentor them. Its about showing how easy it can be."

All events are open to vegans and vegan-curious. For more information, and to find out how to get your tickets to the prom, visit
