VegFest Update and Volunteers Needed!
August 1, 2011
VegFest is right around the corner! Mark your calendars for September 17 & 18 at the Oregon Convention Center. We'll have more free food samples than ever for you to devour. Bring your friends and family and an empty belly! We'll have an impressive line-up of speakers including Dr. Neal Barnard and Wayne Pacelle, as well as captivating chef demos including local stars Julie Hasson (Native Bowl food cart) and Aaron Adams (Portobello). Check out all of our latest event info: nwveg.org/vegfest.

And we'd like to welcome our new Volunteer & Outreach Coordinator, Ashley Downs! We're very grateful for all of Anne Goldfield's hard work - she has been a pleasure to work with.

We'll need more than 300 volunteers to make VegFest happen! We couldn't do it without you! Here are some ways you can be involved:

  • Volunteer at VegFest on Saturday and/or Sunday, Sept. 17/18 (morning, mid-day, & early evening shifts available - 3 hour shifts - many different roles!)
  • Post a VegFest yard sign in your front yard (we'll supply the sign)
  • Distribute VegFest posters and postcards to businesses/coffee shops/libraries etc. in your neighborhood (early September)
  • Assist with set-up at the Convention Center on Friday, Sept. 17

All volunteers get into VegFest free (both days!), and your help is essential in making this a wonderful event! Please let us know the roles you're able to assist with and the day/time you prefer at VegFest. Please email VegFest Volunteer Coordinator with your preferences and contact info: volunteer@nwveg.org.
