VegFest Volunteers Needed!

We're nearing the final week before VegFest (Sept. 17 & 18) and we need your assistance! If you're interested in making VegFest 2011 the best yet, consider lending a hand. Email Ashley at to sign up. One 3-hour shift earns you FREE admission to both Saturday & Sunday, along with a heartfelt thank you from all at NW VEG.

The following positions are open, please see below for thorough descriptions: Leafletter; Setup Crew Member; NW VEG Representative; Food Sampler; Runner; Children's Activities Assistant; Recycling Coordinator; Cleanup Crew Member.

We need postcards distributed at upcoming Portland events! Email Ashley for more details.

Leafletter: Needed Friday & Saturday to distribute fliers to other participants outside of and around the Convention Center.

Setup Crew: Will prepare for exhibitor arrival on Friday and assist exhibitors with load-in/setup on Saturday & Sunday. Must be able to move chairs, tables and signs throughout hall.

NW VEG Representative: Needed Saturday & Sunday. Is responsible for staffing the NW VEG table to provide information about our mission & events. Position entails selling memberships, distributing literature and promoting NW VEG programs.

Food Samplers: Needed Saturday & Sunday. Will assist with light food preparation and sampling distribution.

Runner: Needed for Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Runners go where the need lies. You might help with sampling at 10:00 but be redirected elsewhere at 11:00. Requires flexibility.

Chef Demo Assistants: Needed Saturday & Sunday. Will assist chefs with preparation. May assist with food prep or distribute audience samples.

Family Activities Assistant: Needed Saturday & Sunday. Staff the children's area and help with face painting, special projects, games & cleanup.

Recycling Coordinators: Should be interested and knowledgeable about compost/ recycling so you can direct waste where it’s meant to land. We will have 4 monitored stations where we need volunteers throughout the day.

Cleanup Crew: After it's all over, we’ll need help putting tables, chairs, signs, etc. away until next year. The more help here, the quicker cleanup goes! If you’ll be at Vegfest Sunday evening, please consider staying to help.
