Portland VegFest 2013: Great food, Inspiration, and Fish-Loving Pirates!
September 24, 2013
September's Portland VegFest attracted 6,200+ people from across the U.S. and Canada, savoring hundreds of vegan food samples, from gourmet chocolates to exotic forbidden rice, plus Indian, Thai, Italian, Mexican, fusion, and more cuisines. We were inspired by professional chef demos, renowned doctors and educators, plus had the chance to start our day with yoga and tai chi! Our children were engaged by food-oriented crafts and activities, and got to dress up as pirates for souvenir photos. And the shopping was fantastic - from the newest tasty delights to the largest collection of veg cookbooks available. What were some of your favorite finds and memories from VegFest? We'd love to hear from! Visit us on Facebook and Instagram to join the discussion. Please share pictures that you personally took at this amazing community event and remember to use #pdxvegfest and #nwveg.

If you missed seeing a talk by one of our amazing speakers or chefs check out the presentation webpage of the Northwest VEG website. New videos are being added everyday!

We are so thankful for our generous sponsors, 120+ amazing exhibitors and product donors, more than 400 dedicated volunteers, and the thousands of you who discovered and celebrated the wonderful benefits of plant-based food. We couldn't do it without you! We also welcome your help in planning the 2014 VegFest. Please contact vegfest@nwveg.org to join our planning team.

We would also like to take a moment to once again thank all the Portland VegFest 2013 sponsors - Platinum Pear print sponsor THE OREGONIAN, and Golden Carrot sponsor BOOK PUBLISHING COMPANY; as well as Silver Sunflower sponsors: Attune Foods, Earthly Gourmet, Kelso Photography, Mt.
