Join us for food and friends at our monthly Portland potluck and then hear a presentation by Daniel Chong, ND on Dietary Treatment of Cardiovascular Disease: What is the Evidence? Dr. Chong will delve into why it is appropriate to consider dietary therapy as a primary tool in the prevention, and even the treatment of cardiovascular disease, and why the current conventional approach to this disease is not always sufficient on its own.
Dr. Chong is a licensed naturopathic physician, practicing in Portland, OR since 2000, where he focuses on healthy aging of the brain and body, as well as risk assessment, prevention and drug-free treatment strategies for cardiovascular disease and diabetes.
Come at 5 pm for the vegan potluck, or at 6:30 pm for Dr. Chong’s talk, or both. If coming for the potluck, please bring a plant-based (no animal products, including honey) main dish, salad, or dessert; a card listing its ingredients; and plates and utensils for your use. Need plant-based ideas? Click here. If you come alone, figure the amount to serve 4-6 generously; increase the amount 4 servings for each additional person in your party/family. Northwest VEG potlucks are alcohol-free events. For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
