Harmless Halloween: A Spooky, Compassionate Celebration for the Whole Family

Get ready for the Harmless Halloween of your dreams! Vegan Scouts and Try Vegan PDX are joining forces to bring you the kindest, most deliciously vegan Halloween event of the year. With thanks to our generous sponsor, Northwest VEG, this year's Harmless Halloween promises to be an unforgettable celebration of fun, community, and compassion, with plenty of spooky surprises and family-friendly activities.

New This Year: VIP Hour!

For the first time ever, we’re offering an exclusive VIP hour from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM! There will be 50 special VIP packages available for families, each including commemorative merchandise—perfect for those who want to get a head start on the festivities or prefer a more relaxed experience without the crowds. These VIP tickets will sell out fast, so be sure to grab yours early!

General doors open at 5:00 PM, and admission is a suggested donation of $5 per person. But don’t stress about the cost—no one will be turned away due to lack of funds, so come join the fun no matter your budget!

A Truly Harmless Halloween Experience

At Harmless Halloween, we’re celebrating more than just tricks and treats; we’re celebrating kindness, sustainability, and compassion for all beings. Here’s what you can look forward to:

  • Costumes, Community, and Culture: Celebrate Halloween and Día de Los Muertos with a cruelty-free twist! Whether you come in a spooky, funny, or creative costume, this event is all about having fun without harm. It’s a family-friendly, vegan event that welcomes everyone.

  • Trunk or Treat by Try Vegan PDX: Join us for the 3rd Annual Trunk or Treat organized by Try Vegan PDX! Come ready to fill your bags with delicious, vegan treats from community participants. (Don't forget your treat bag!)

  • Face Painting: Whether you want a cute pumpkin on your cheek or a full-on skeleton face, our talented artists will be ready to transform you into a Halloween masterpiece!

  • Cupcake Walk (Sponsored by Out to Pasture Animal Sanctuary): Walk, hop, or skip to the beat and win delicious cupcakes in our fun and festive cupcake walk. There’s a sweet treat for everyone!

  • Skeleton Animal Petting Sanctuary: Meet some very special skeleton animals at our petting sanctuary. These little creatures may not be alive, but they’re sure to steal your heart and bring some educational fun to your Halloween experience.

  • Community Offrenda: In honor of Día de Los Muertos, we’ll have a community offrenda where you can bring a photo of a loved one who has passed. This is a special space to honor the memory of those who came before us.

  • Crafts and Activities: Get creative with vegan-friendly craft activities for all ages. From making your own decorations to creating spooky art, there’s no shortage of creative ways to celebrate!

  • Raffle Prizes: Enter our raffle for a chance to win some amazing prizes. Who doesn’t love a little spooky luck on Halloween?

  • Merch and Information Tables: Learn more about the Vegan Scouts, Try Vegan PDX, Northwest VEG, and Out to Pasture Animal Sanctuary while checking out our exclusive event merchandise. It’s a great way to support these awesome organizations while getting some cool, cruelty-free gear.
