Tofurky Trot Review

Weeks of rain and overcast days gave way to a beautiful sunshiny Thanksgiving morning. More than 1300 runners and walkers took advantage of the perfect weather and came out for the 2024 Tofurky Trot at Oaks Park in Portland. Long lines for registration and food were the result, but patience and good humor prevailed. All the volunteers were stretched to the max and came up with creative solutions to keep the crowd happy. There were so many four-footed trotters that the doggie valets ran out of hands to hold them. Thank you to all our amazing volunteers!

Seth Tibbott, Tofurky's founder, started the race and awarded prizes for best costume and first place finisher. Both KOIN 6 and KGW were there to report on the race and gave us some nice coverage on the evening news. Nine local farm animal sanctuaries were present and [shared information with the race participants] OR [disseminated information to the race participants]; they will share in the profits from Tofurky Trot. After the race, the participants enjoyed vegan treats and hot drinks.

It was wonderful to see so many people decide to chase compassion on Thanksgiving!
