NW VEG Westside Potluck and Program: Carina’s Bakery Presentation

  • West Hills Unitarian Universalist Fellowship 8470 Southwest Oleson Road Portland, OR, 97223 United States (map)

Come enjoy a delicious variety of food and make new friends at the Northwest VEG Westside Potluck.

We are very pleased to have Carina Comer, founder of Carina’s Bakery, as our presenter. Carina’s bakery is 100% plant-based and mostly gluten-free, and offers savory treats and small batch vegan ice cream as well as cookies, cakes, and other bakery staples.

Carina has dreamed of owning a bakery since she was 5 years old, and nine years ago, that dream became a reality, in spite of being legally blind since she was young. She has also made it her mission to hire people with disabilities to give them an opportunity to work. In addition to operating a bakery, Carina offers baking classes including gluten-free basics and baking blind, and also provides catering services.

Come hear Carina’s inspiring story, told by Carina herself. You can read more about Carina in this article on the Northwest VEG website from 3 years ago.

Come to the potluck at 5, Carina’s presentation at 6:15, or both. If you come for the potluck, please bring a plant-based (no meat, dairy, honey, or other animal products) main dish, salad, or dessert; a card listing its ingredients; and plates and utensils for your use. If you come alone, figure the amount to serve 4-6; increase the amount 4 servings for each additional person in your party/family.
