Vancouver April Vegan Potluck

  • The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church & Preschool 16001 Northeast 34th Street Vancouver, WA, 98682 United States (map)

Vancouver potlucks are indoors again! Please bring your own meal. You may bring a dish to share if you like.

Our presentation this month is INFLAMMATION: Causes and Best Anti-inflammation Diet with Linda Tyler.

Linda Tyler is The Gracious Vegan, and very graciously has presented many cooking classes for Northwest VEG and has supplied many recipes for the Northwest VEG newsletter. You can see her recipes and find out more about cooking and her work at https://www.graciousvegan.com/about. Chronic inflammation is not only the cause of pain and tissue damage in autoimmune diseases and allergies. It can also play a dangerous role in obesity, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and many types of cancer. The good news is that we can reduce systemic inflammation through diet. Eating a healthy plant-based diet is helpful for calming the immune system. Linda Tyler, the Gracious Vegan, who is working on The Plant-Based Anti-Inflammatory Cookbook (to be released in 2024 with Skyhorse Publishing), will explain what chronic inflammation is, what causes it, how it interacts with deadly diseases and excess weight, and what foods are pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory.

We have no kitchen in this venue, so please be prepared to wash your dishes after you leave.
