Join us in the new year for a vegan potluck on Sunday, January 14th, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Orenco UU Church. This is a great opportunity to meet other vegans in your community, learn about vegan cooking, and share recipes.
Our January potluck at Orenco will highlight member's favorite chili recipes or their favorite topping or side dish, such as corn bread. Members can also bring a favorite salad or dessert to round out our selections. Since many of us help out our feathered friends during the winter we will present a short YouTube video on making vegan suet and Alba Lawrence, co-founder of Birds Don't Eat Cows, has generously offered sample cakes of their vegan suet to our potluck attendees. Alba, an ornithologist here in Oregon, and her husband created their line of vegan suet and want to introduce Northwest VEG members to their organic and GMO-free product. Northwest VEG hopes to have Alba speak to our group later this year.
All our food is plant-based (no animal products, including honey), and we ask that you fill out an ingredients list to put with the dish. It’s up to you to bring your plates and utensils.
If you come alone, figure the amount to serve 4-6; and increase for each additional person in your party/family. The Orenco Unitarian Universalist Fellowship is hosting Northwest VEG with this event.
