Northwest VEG Westside Potluck and screening: short Transfarmation documentary

  • West Hills Unitarian Universalist Fellowship 8470 Southwest Oleson Road Portland, OR, 97223 United States (map)

Come meet new friends or see old ones at the Northwest VEG Westside Potluck. You can come just to the potluck at 5:00 pm, the program which will start at 6:15 pm, or both.

After the potluck, we will be showing Transfarming Switzerland, a short, hopeful video with subtitles that follows Sarah Heiligtag, a woman from Switzerland helping transform animal farms into vegan farms and sanctuaries by working directly with farmers who seek a different relationship with animals.

For the potluck, please bring a plant-based (no meat, eggs, dairy, honey, or other animal products) main dish, salad, or dessert; a card listing its ingredients; and plates and utensils for your use. You can make the dish yourself or bring store-bought food. If you come alone, figure the amount to serve 4-6; increase the amount 4 servings for each additional person in your party/family. Northwest VEG potlucks are alcohol-free events.

Selina Blaser now grows chickpeas on her farm to make hummus. Her cows still remain on the farm, but as permanent residents instead of being raised for slaughter.
