We are thrilled to have Dr. Neal Barnard, founder of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, back in Portland to speak on his new book The Power Foods Diet. The book presents a new diet and plan that offers an evidence-based food-as-medicine protocol for kickstarting weight loss and keeping it off. The book reveals three breakthroughs that are supported by research, revealing that certain foods: can reduce the appetite; trap calories so they are flushed away and cannot be absorbed; and increase the body's ability to burn calories for about three hours after each meal. Dr. Barnard will be speaking at Powell's City of Books, and signed copies of his book will be available after his talk.
