As spring arrives and the earth warms, many of us feel inspired to grow the food that sustains us. But how can we cultivate abundant gardens without relying on petrochemicals or animal by-products, such as blood, bone, fish meals, and manure? The solution lies in veganic (vegan-organic) gardening.
If you're interested in learning gardening techniques that are freely available, sustainable, and aligned with your vegan values, our affiliated Facebook Group, Veganic Gardening PDX, is planning a get-together this month. The event will be hosted by Marsha Rakestraw, a passionate advocate and former president of NW VEG. Please come and share your questions, wisdom, and experiences. Seed swaps, plant exchanges, and vegan treats are encouraged. Masking is appreciated.
As space is limited, please RSVP to Marsha at humanebeings@gmail.com
